Webinar Series on the Nuances of GINA and Genetics Law

The Cancer Legal Resource Center is hosting a four-part webinar series that will examine the Genetic Information and Nondiscrimination Act and other laws that protect individuals with genetic predispositions from discrimination.

The first webinar in the series is entitled, “What Does the Myriad Ruling Mean for My Patients?” and is scheduled for August 8th at 1pm Pacific time.

For genetic counselors, the NSGC will be offering 4.0 category 1 contact hours for the entire series.

Webinar on Affordable Care Act, Medicaid Expansion, and Public Health Implications

In June 2012, the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act, but made the law’s Medicaid expansion effectively optional for states. One year later – just months ahead of the ACA’s planned coverage expansions – experts from the National Health Law Program (NHeLP) offer an update on states’ decisions regarding Medicaid expansion and health insurance exchanges and discuss the implications for public health.
