Location: Montreal, QC
Program Length: 21 months
We are the only french-speaking genetic counseling program in North America. The genetic counseling option of the Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences aims to train health professionals specialized in the field of expertise of medical genetics and, in particular, the transmission of genetic information and the support of individuals and families struggling with a hereditary disease. This professional program involves theoretical and practical training over 5 sessions in a predominantly hospital context. Graduates may practice as genetic counsellors.
The curriculum is similar to other genetic counseling programs with classes and clinical rotations in different contexts. Our graduates are eligible for the CAGC certification exam but not for the ABGC examination.
