Master's Program in Genetic Counselling

Location: Montreal, QC
Program Length:  21 months

We are the only French-speaking genetic counseling program in North America.  The genetic counseling Master’s Program at Université de Montréal aims to train healthcare professionals specialized in the field of medical genetics and, in particular, the transmission of genetic information and the support of individuals and families struggling with a hereditary condition.  This professional program involves theoretical and practical training over 5 sessions in a university hospital setting predominantly. Graduates may practice as genetic counsellors.

The curriculum is similar to other genetic counseling programs with classes and various clinical rotations. Our graduates are eligible for the CBGC certification exam but not for the ABGC examination.
